From the AKC Museum of the Dog’s Executive Director, Christopher Bromson, “Soon after [fall], we’ll turn our attention toward Salukis and Dogs of the Desert, celebrating the centennial of AKC recognition of the Saluki and drawing upon what we believe to be the finest collection of Saluki art in the world. “

And the exhibit is now published on their website.

“In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the American Kennel Club’s recognition of the Saluki and consequently the Saluki Club of America, the museum is mounting a special exhibition dedicated to the breed. Due in part to the generous Cynthia Wood, the museum maintains the finest collection of Saluki art in the world including James Ward’s 1807 canvas and Charles Hamilton’s Zillah, The exhibition will also feature the breed’s neighbors and cousins in Africa and the near East such as Pharoh and Afghan Hounds. January 20, 2027 – June 20, 2027”

We’ve been working with the MOD on this for two years and it promises to be brilliant. If you are planning on going to the Centennial National or Westminster, or even just visiting, you should consider a stop in New York City to see this once-in-a-lifetime exhibit.
